Hey there! I thought I'd better drop a line to let y'all know I've not run away to join the circus.
Let's see, since I yakked last .....
As some of y'all saw on FB, Tom and I celebrated our 21st anniversary last week. As has become custom, we enjoyed a late lunch at Long Horn ... our favorite server remembered our orders before we could even open our mouths.
Since 2004 these children have observed new marriages, 3 newborns, a U.S. Marine ...
This little sweetheart, for example, who belongs to G-daughter #2 (third from left).
Life goes on!

Tom's proposed hip replacement has taken an unplanned detour. Learning that the orthopedic surgery center we've been seeing is not a "recognized provider" by V.A., they're referring us to another facility. Back to Square #1! As an old friend shared, "In this life, change is always on the menu."
The no-so silver lining? The required approval from Tom's cardiologist came back A-OK -- not so much pulmonology. Yesterday we were "over the river and through the woods" back to Russell Medical Center where he underwent a bronchoscopy biopsy. Unfortunately, they encountered a few challenges during the procedure, but released him a few hours later. Doc estimates results won't be forthcoming for 7-10 days. While they didn't see any "obvious masses" I won't stop praying until we get those results showing a big fat negative.
Here's a thought!
⭐
As incredulous as it seems, this morning's sun rose to a spectacular September morning ..... 24 years since the world I knew splintered into a million assumptions. One might think I'd have become inured to this awful anniversary ... but they'd be wrong. Jo Anne and Matthew -- coworkers who felt more like family -- are hard-wired in my brain. Tho' we're no longer in contact, I remember every minute. M's was the only cell phone with service, his play-by-play with a buddy in the City watching the devastation enfolding.
Each of you have distinct memories of that day. I don't want to bring anyone down, but coupled with the news of Charlie Kirk's assassination I'm feeling an extra layer of loss.
This helps
Love y'all!
Myra

I've been worried and have been praying for both of you. I checked here daily and was concerned that you were no longer posting. I considered emailing you and did not because I thought it was probably an unwelcome intrusion.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad and relieved to see you here. Still praying for Tom's and your good health. And also congratulating you both on your Anniversary.
Let us together pray for peace in this world. Thanx for the meaningful song.
God bless you always my friends.
Victor, please don't ever hesitate to reach out to me privately. That's what friends are for!
DeleteOn the one hand, twenty four years seems to have gone by in a flash. On the other hand, it seems like a lifetime ago.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly!
DeleteIF and I say IF you run away to joking the circus PLEASE come get me and take me with you... hugs and love coming your way.. Waiting for tests is excruciating.. it still seems like it was just 2 or 3 years ago that the towers went down. Our world is a sad sad place these days
ReplyDeleteI'm not leaving without you (and Beau)!
DeleteI can certainly identify with Tom's medical woes. So mentally and physically draining. Healing and positive prayers for you both.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the 9-11 reminder, which I completely forgot this year.....so many other things have muddled my mind.
I was absolutely stunned when I heard about Charlie Kirk. The demonic hate in this world is beyond horrifying.
Take care. Jon
Belated anniversary greetings!
DeleteThey got him, Jon! I've been riveted to the TV all morning.
DeleteThank you so much for the prayers.
Belated anniversary greetings and love, hugs, and prayers for you both. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteGood morning Myra. So glad you all were able to celebrate your love years together at your favorite restaurant. You just have to ask sometimes, "why do things in the medical world have to be so complicated?" Prayers that everything moves quickly and that Tom can get the needed surgery. Prayers for a very good report on the test he had done. The past couple of days have been sorrowful but we know who holds our tomorrows. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteSo true! 🤗
DeleteI'm so glad you are both hanging in there! I've gone through a lot of tests too and it's not easy at all to wait for results. I'd likes too wish you both a belated happy Anniversary. Love, ma
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet friend!
DeleteThis has been one of the toughest weeks we've endured as a country, Myra. As I said to another blogger earlier, my heart isn't broken, it's shattered. Yet, as believers, we can know that death is not the end.
ReplyDeletePraying for both Tom and you - please keep us updated. And Happy Anniversary!
I will, Martha. Thank you so much!
DeleteHappy anniversary Myra - you have had a lot of growth in your family. Sorry you have to start the hip issue all over again.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is still hurting for Charlie Kirk and his family.
Mine, too. I still cry watching the news.
DeleteI'm going to say that my feelings are that of Shug's too. Thank the Lord we know who holes tomorrow. Glad to see you back on the blog. I will join you and Sandra at the circus too. This life certainly is a circus. (((hugs))) Sue
ReplyDeleteSend in the clowns! 🙃
DeleteA terrible week of horrific loss, for sure. But, oh my goodness, I love that photo of your wedding day and the family gathered around you. Life does go on and our hope is certainly on that recently born generation of young people. Praying about it daily. xo
ReplyDeleteJoining you in prayer, dear friend!
DeleteHappy Anniversary. That is a lovely photo of the family. So sorry to hear about the hip replacement situation. I hope things can get worked out. Sending prayers for Tom. Yes, this past week was a tough one. I will never forget 9/11 and now this tragic shooting. God Help Us. You take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby! 😘
DeleteA happy belated anniversary, my friend...yes, it's been a tough week. Keeping in prayer.
ReplyDeleteYou also, dear lady.
DeleteAn extra layer of loss ... yeah, it does feel that way. We have become a wicked and perverse society. I don't like what my Country has become.
ReplyDeleteStill enjoyed the post, though. It's good to remember these things.
Blessings.
Blessings! 💛
Deleteoh my goodness - your hair is so cute in your wedding photo! Happy anniversary! Saying a prayer for you, Tom, and the doctors!!
