| Things that make me go 'hmmm' |
I'm not trying to be flippant ... some of these bother me more than they should. For instance?
Why do I fool myself into believing I can eat only one pretzel stick?
Why do I feel so sorry for the thoroughbred that crossed the finish line in last place? Maybe he doesn't care, but I hope someone's there to give him an 'atta-boy!'

1961 Ocala, FL

Why do I compulsively use so many exclamation marks? It's a sickness, y'all!(!!!!!)
Why are there no ambulances for dogs and cats?
Why are traffic accidents/alerts broadcast by mile marker ... and not 'near to' or 'across from'? I'm not a cartographer, Karen.
Why these 3?
(Numbers)
For several years now -- without rhyme or reason, a set of 3 digits will appear at random throughout my day ... on the microwave, my phone face, my car's dashboard. I'll glance down and whoa ... there they are.

Yes, they definitely mean something to me ... and no, I don't think they're what's called 'angel numbers.'
Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?
On a lighter note!
WHY do I still have most of these?

Are there things you could add?
I'd love to hear them.
I'd love to hear them.
Hugs, Myra

Enjoyed this post and wish that I could have blown up the don't need list because I know I am guilty of many.
ReplyDeleteCan you, perhaps right-click on the image and select "Open in new tab"? I don't know why it won't let me blow up here.
DeleteGreat Question here this morning....Why, do I use dot, dot, dot so often? I have no idea, but I always have! I know that my English teacher would flip if she were alive and could read my blog post!! Why is a great question for so many things in this world today and I totally feel you. .....big hugs Myra
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing!!!
DeleteWhy and what if are two of my sayings I use over and over. Who knows why? Life is such a puzzle sometimes, but we'd go crazy trying to figure it out. Best just to trust life will be what it is meant to be and let it go. We really do overthink some things. Relax and let it all go. Love, ma
ReplyDeleteGreat advice; thanks, Ma!
DeleteLoved this, Myra. I enlarged the list and read it and wept...Oh my! I if I went through some of my drawers I know I would find many of those things...I try to weed them out occasionally, but why is it so hard to just throw them away? They don't mean anything to me or anyone else and I doubt anyone else would want them...And like Shug, I use the ... many times. It means my thought isn't quite finished, and there's more to come, so wait for it! LOL. My English teachers are long gone and I doubt they are still proofreading what I write from heaven...and as long as you all understand it, that's all that matters, right??? (yes, I use extra ??? and !!! all the time as well!!! See???) What fun. Have a lovely day. Now I want some pretzel sticks, but I don't have any. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove your thought, Pam! Like pausing in the middle of a conversation to swallow or take another breath.
DeleteWhy are there no ambulances for dogs and cats?
ReplyDeleteBecause they cannot drive; so who would drive the ambulances?
I have most of the 30 items on your list of not thrown away. I guess it is in our nature to hoard "just in case" one day we might need them. I still have my Birth Certificate even though I know when I was born.
The 3 numbers thing is strange. Is it the same 3 numbers appearing in the same order on various appliances? Perhaps you should play the lottery using those numbers.
God bless.
Yes, it's always the same 3 numbers in the same order. Weird!
Delete(Unfortunately, the lottery isn't allowed here in Alabama.)
The 3 numbers mean something very dear and personal to me. Comforting, in a way.
DeleteIf the numbers mean something dear which you understand; may I (humbly) suggest you pray about this. The appearance of the numbers may be a call to prayer. I am praying for you right now, Mevely.
DeleteGod bless.
Thank you, dear friend. I will do that.
DeleteIt's a sign of childlike wonder to still ask why, Myra, so just roll with it. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWill do! 😉
DeleteThe exclamation mark addiction? Same here (!!!). The random number thing is fascinating I’ve experienced that too and always wonder what it means.
ReplyDeleteYour mix of humor and genuine curiosity is so refreshing. And those little things we keep? Oh yes... the nostalgia is real.
Thanks for such a relatable and delightful read. Keep these coming—they make my day
Thank you so much!
DeleteYou wonder and it reveals you to be a deep thinker.
ReplyDeleteExclamations, dots are all ways of "talking" electronically. I think most of the time we realize it means it's important to you. I used to see 444 a lot. In gematria they have meaning because in Greek and Hebrew numbers are also letters.
How interesting!
DeleteI'm with Shug, I Iike .... It serves a purpose, and that's good enough for me. 😊
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
DeleteGuilty !!! I am the "best" ... person around. Just look at any of my blog posts. Dot ... Dot ... Dot ...
ReplyDeleteI do tend to have too many Just in Case things in my drawer.
Love this post today.
Sue
Maybe we should start a club and call ourselves the Dotty's? 😄
DeletePassing through while still on vacation. I still have most of those things on the list, though I did through some stickers away, awhile back. LOL A win for me!!!!!!!! I also use too many of those things!!!! Sending a hug, Myra! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you're having a good time, Terri! Hugs!
DeleteLOL Ain't that list the truth?!! and exclamation marks, me too!!!!!!!! LOL Oh yes I ask myself WHY, even answer, "Cause you B crazy!"
ReplyDelete😆
DeleteYou know, your ambulances for pets gives me a good idea for a business! That really would be something useful to have available since about 95% of the population have pets that might need emergency care. Maybe someone will take the ball and run with that one. I would also not be adverse to an emergency Margarita van. You know, for me, when the pet is sick and I'm totally stressed out. Just sayin' .... 😂
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of things we keep but don't need or use: that is a mystery. For me it was I might need (item) one day and there it'll be. Lately, I've been culling the herd by giving away or selling those same items. Well, except the Junk Pile out behind the workshop. Those are items we could use for us or to help someone else someday. Already been doing that.
Hope y'all are staying inside in the A/C. Lawdy it's hot! 🩷
Ya, I'll never forget when Tom's big black dog was dying and we couldn't find a vet to come to the house. Wound up having to roll him onto a big quilt and carry to the truck; poor guy was out of his mind in pain. What I wouldn't have given for a pet ambulance.
DeleteI have some of the items on the list - but moving twice in the past few years have me rid of a lot.
ReplyDeleteWe do remember the first place and last place winners and losers don't we?
And why can't we eat one pretzel?
Ya, that'll do it!
DeleteI doubt if anyone could eat on pretzel stick. True, way to go in running in the race. Some very interesting facts you have shared.
