Good SONday morning ... how y'all doing?
First, thanks for all your suggestions at Wednesday's 'Watercooler'! I'd be delighted to patronize every one of your shops!
Oh, before I forget! Has anyone else's Reader been acting out? A few days ago, mine was suddenly populated by (no lie) hundreds of posts from bloggers who, in most cases, haven't published anything in more than 6-7 years. I'd have to keep hitting the "load more" button just to find my little tribe.
Unfortunately, to make them go away I had to go into settings and "unfollow" those inactive bloggers. If, by a slim chance, someone's still reading and wondered why I vetoed their blog, please let me know and I'll add you back.
This has been a checkered kind of week, but!
I'm determined to Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive. (Right, Bing?)
What could be better than the safe arrival of a great-granddaughter on Wednesday night! Already, her mere 6 lbs. have her daddy in a headlock. He and Chloe are going to be the best parents!
We're short on family traditions but gifting the first loaf to my son for his birthday's right up there.
I don't follow the story but applaud their efforts when in 2017 they pledged to hire 10,000 veterans to protest *bucks' pledge of 10,000 refugees.
It's really good!
I've blogged before about this mom-and-pop enterprise. And while I'd just as soon make my own cup of coffee at home, I like to support Sweet Hart coffee during the holidays.
Haha..I'm laughing at the banana quote because I have bananas on my counter getting overripe for a loaf of banana bread for my neighbors next door. They are getting pretty fragrant. Think tomorrow is baking day!

DeleteYes, yes!!! My Readers List went crazy a few days ago. I kept getting dozens of ancient posts from blogs that I followed 15 years ago! I had to keep unfollowing blogs, until I could finally find the current blogs that I read. It frustrated the heck out of me!!!

ReplyDeleteTime flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. Over here bananas get ripe very quickly ... by the time you get home from the supermarket.
And coffee is not everyone's cup of tea.
And split ice cubes are water under the fridge.

DeleteCongrats on the successful bread making! I haven't made banana bread since Joe passed. He loved it. I'm not much into bananas - enough to make a loaf just for me, anyway. Did you post about Black Rifle coffee before? Because I ordered a pound of whole beans and it is delicious! Smells SO GOOD when grinding the beans... so thanks for the recommendation! xo

DeleteYes, I was getting the lists of posts from old blogs too, some of whom are no longer even living sadly. I did send a message to Blogger via "feedback", and although they didn't respond verbally to me, the lists quit coming, so maybe they fixed the glitch. I couldn't unfollow all of them because their follower section on their blog was partially blocked and there was no "unfollow" button visible. And I no longer had them in my list of blogs that I read regularly since they were inactive. So anyway, I hope it's fixed now. OH, so HAPPY to see that precious new baby! How wonderful!!! What a blessing for you to actually hold your first great-granddaughter! Oh, I am so happy for you! What a blessing and such joy! I pray I will have that joy someday too, but my only grandson is no longer engaged and I don't know when or if he will ever find another one to marry. So I pray. God is in control. I just hope it happens before I am too old to know what's going on! LOL. Re: bananas, that little poem is exactly right. I cannot bear the smell (or taste) of really ripe bananas anymore, but I do like to make banana nut bread. So that's what happens as soon as I can smell them getting too ripe! LOL. I enjoyed your post so much. I am SO happy for you!!

I love the French Pods from Starbucks - it is my favorite. Haven't tried to Rifle one yet - I might tho.

Banana Nut Bread is one of my fav's. Haven't had it for donkey's since going keto. *sigh* Even the smell of it makes my mouth water ... bet it was scrumptious. The graphic about bananas is so spot on! They do overripen just that fast.
Only went to Starbucks once. There's a local coffee shop in Blackshear that we frequent: Southern Sippin'. Starbucks can't hold a candle to their delicacies. If y'all are ever in SE Georgia try to stop by. It's a quaint little place with a nice atmosphere. They play Christian music too.

my friend Madeline baked bannana bread and mailed them to people. Bob was on her list, and she died in 2022 so he has not had but one since then, and I bought it at Publix. he said not as good as hers but good.
Does the new baby live close enough you can visit her a lot?
I wish I could send you and Bob a loaf! Yes, the kids live only 35 minutes away. I keep promising myself not to hover -- lol.

I love banana bread too and still have a loaf in the frezer from the last time I baked. That snowball drink sounds wonderful. I don't ho out for coffee micjh at all, but my daughter likes Duncan Donuts coffee and we've gone there a few times. Enjoy the first Christmas with your granddaughter! Love, ma
