For y'all underscoring my 'spidey senses' about that ludicrous job offer. I don't know that anything will come of it, but I've reported both to the fraud team at Indeed.com.
Outside my Window
16 months, and I'm still trying to decide what to do with this area outside the sun room.
'Thought a café table and chairs might be cute -- but the deck with table and chairs is just to the right, out of range. Someone suggested relocating the (broken) bird bath at the back of our yard. So yep! Tom's got him a new honey-do!

We made another 7-bone roast in the slow cooker Friday night. Delicious!
Even though I professed to not being hungry, we both wound up standing and hovering over it (the cooker) with forks in hand. What a shame we couldn't run an extension cord to the couch and sit with the pot in between!
What'ya Know?!
The microfiber 'shop cloths' Tom found at Wal-Mart make a great substitute for the pricier disposable pads. They're thin enough to secure onto the mop's base; and unlike the Swifter brand, I can dirty them to my heart's content, then toss in the washer.

Dogs named Sebastian … Addison … Beckett. Haven't we come a long way from names like Spot and Rover?

DeleteI'll confess here sometimes after hubby leaves for work in the morning, I'll go back and take a quick 20 minute nap which helps immensely. Babies and young children don't realize how wonderful naps are! They fight it because they don't want to miss anything, but I lovingly love the naps I can occasionally take!
ReplyDeleteI see to be always "up swimming" in grocery stores. Always going in the wrong direction. Ikea kind of has it right in how it is all laid out. You got to do the whole store but it flows.
How do you make your 7 bone roast? I'm not sure I heard of a 7 bone roast!
Koda was originally going to be called Dakota. Son liked that name and we lived close to the Dakotas at that time of our lives. But when we saw him the Da was dropped and the t became a d and that's how Koda came to be It fit him well.
We were in Cottonwood today wine tasting and a wine cup got hubby's attention. He didn't buy it. But it said "Drunk Wives Matter." He was afraid it would offend. I wouldn't have been offended LOL.
We also saw 2020 calendars out for sale! How did this happen?

Oh, I'd love that wine cup! Love Cottonwood! 7-Bone doesn't really contain 7 bones. Rather it (beef chuck roast) has one large bone some think look like the #7. We just season it with garlic pepper, pour (unsalted) beef bouillon 1/3 of the way up and keep in the slow cooker 6 hours. (2 on high, 4 on low). It literally falls off the bone!

ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in West Texas, turkey buzzards used to hang around my yard. It was unnerving.
Supermarkets should DEFINITELY have traffic lanes and traffic signals. And I want a huge air horn on my shopping cart - - to scare the living jeeters out of everyone in my way.
I'm presently in my Halloween Mode. It always starts in August and I savor it.
Christmas is on a back burner....but it's closer than we think....

I agree about traffic lanes in supermarkets, and traffic lights even. Some people just swing the trolley round U turn without a signal. Or park there chatting to one another.

ReplyDeleteWe have a 11 year old German Shepherd name Coffee...short story, one day I asked hubby did he want another cup of coffee. The nameless puppy shot up and started barking. Ok, so he picked his own name. And it has stuck all these years.
I agree on the grocery store and Walmart. Some of those folks at Walmart are something else...rude, rude, rude. Just saying.

I am boring. we have had Max, Baby, Cooper, Jake and Big Boy... I even had Brownie, Blackie, Joey and Runt, Ginger and Fritz. Stickey baby was first, that is a little original. but that was back in 1951

ReplyDeleteMy furbabies are Leroy (Roy) Brown, LuLuBelle, Tater-Bug, and Jasper. Cats are Fiona(Nonners) and Melvin. Hubby just shakes his head when I get a new animal because he knows the names are more than likely going to be something straight out of the back woods of my youth! HeHe! Well...dang it...you just can't get the same effect by yelling, "Tinkerbell" or "Muffin".

It's basically a beef chuck roast, cut from the shoulder … the big bone at the top is supposed to resemble the #7. (I don't get it.) Love your furbabies' names; they'd fit right in here in Alabama! I follow the columnist Sean Dietrich (Sean of the South) whose dogs' names came from the Andy Griffith Show - Thelma Lou and Otis Campbell!

ReplyDeleteDirectional signs would be great just like Ikea as Betty said. We have such fun following them whenever we visit. My husband really liked afternoon naps but I have never gotten into the habit although I have read HOW good they are for all ages. Some previous pet names in our home were Misfit & Sambuca (both cats) and Boo (dog). I've spent some time reading previous posts on your blog, that job ad one sounds like a scam to me as well and I would definitely avoid it.
So nice to meet-cha, Beatrice! I've not visited an IKEA, so now Betty's comment makes sense. Chuckling about the name, 'Misfit' … thanks for playing along!

Oh my goodness! SO much info and I LOVE it here! I did not mention previously on my novella I wrote to you (lol) I do know what V-J Day is. Lots of loved ones serviced in WWII.Jeremy named Bandit that name simply because of his black and white coloring and when Smokey came along, he was always a fan of old school music, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Therefore the patriot Smokey born on July 4th is Smokey Robinson! HaHaHa! Legal and everything! I had a Gigi and her daughter Renee. French poodles although not miniature or standard size. In between. They had beautiful long names to present them to the AKC for their paperwork. Haute Cotour sort of! hee hee hee! My great niece has a son named Beckett. Addy and Brody will be brother to Blake soon enough. Just not suppose to write on my blog yet. Thor and Loki are Avenger characters, Lulu is just my girl although my SIL Zach says I named her short for LuLaRoe because I love it! He is wrong on that one!Finn is Zach's name for the puppy he helped Lulu bring into the world because she was having a hard time getting him out of the birth sac. He is named for the Adventures of Huck Finn! Quite appropriate. Poor kitty, he was suppose to be Tiger Lily until the vet said uh oh he is not a she, but a rather manly male feline! So he became Tiger and Tigger although Jeremy says he is Mister Cat a/k/a Mr. Kitty and Mr. TOMpkins! My Boots had black and white boots on his feet and a milk mustache. Spats had four white paws and the hubby thought he reminded him of those old Eliott Ness ganster movies in the Roaring 20's where they wore "spats" on their shoes.Molly is Molly reminding me of Miz Mollye and Roxanne, well she was just loved by Hannah and graced with that name a/k/a "Tiny Dancer" because of her ability to dance until you gave her a treat! The girl never backed down! Tinkerbell was Rebekah's love and Shadow was a true gypsy. My Casey was named after the Great Casey At Bat (Stengel).Rose is simply a beautiful friend Nick had in middle school. That cat is living her 9 lives to the fullest. Nick graduated college in 2017 and she dates back to middle school and his fifth grade year. Zach's feline is Daphne, a petite cat with a very shy demeanor. I think I have covered a multitude of pets. My sis did own Bourbon, although she was never a huge whiskey fan. She had Napoleon too named for the French stateman. They were poodles. Her cats were Toulouse (the famed artist) , Sidewinder (chronic ear infection causing her to walk sideways) and others who have escaped my memory. Now her cats are Bumby and his two brothers. They are shy fellows so rarely see them. Bumby is a bit of a bully.

Old School recipe, frost a large rump roast with low sodium cream of mushroom soup. Place in roaster (wintertime delight) and bake in a low oven all night long. I Must find my St. Joseph's Cookbook to verify temp and time. (Wink wink)
