Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
This special girl young lady -- my first 'grand' -- will always hold a special place in my heart!
Just as I was geographically estranged from my own grandparents, DH and I aren't able to visit Sarah and her sister in Alabama as often as we'd like.
Still, it's been a privilege to witness Sarah evolve -- from a sassy little live wire, to a kind, soft-spoken coed ...
... mom's confidant
... dad's football buddy (War Eagle!)
... and most recently, 'Daniel's girl': someone who seems to have appreciated receiving a baby goat ('Olivia') for Valentines -- more so than roses!
Happy, happy birthday, Sarah! I hope all your new horizons are welcoming!

Happy Birthday to your Granddaughter ! What a beautiful young woman. It is a delight to watch our grands grow. My oldest is going to be 22 this year. The youngest is 6 months. Many of mine are miles apart too. It is not easy being a long distance grand'ma'.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a real sweetheart. LOVE the goat. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sarah.

ReplyDeleteHeck, I was 21 so long ago that I think Taft was President.....
Happy Birthday to your beautiful granddaughter! Most of my grandchildren live for away from us. The youngest will be two in June lives in San Antonia Texas. I really miss seeing her grow up.
