I arrived at church and took my place. When what to my wondering eyes should appear?

Most of us wore hats again ...
Poor Brenda was once again the target of our giggles. Obviously, Google Girl can't comprehend her pronounced Southern accent, LOL.
{Aside: I felt pretty sad when I read on another Blogger's post yesterday that she's working not to sound so Southern. I think (almost) all accents are charming.}
8 of us aren't shown, but this pretty much represents the mood whenever we get together.
Anyway. Pastor Janet talked about the domino effect -- how even one person can make a difference through his or her actions. I'm sharing the video she played. This theory may not come as a surprise to some, but my NON-physics mind was gobsmacked.
Oh, and yes, we were all given a domino of our own to keep.
Later than afternoon the church had a 'Spring Fling' ... complete with inflatables, corn hole games, hot dogs and camaraderie.
Because we had someone scheduled to come out and give us a quote to have our place pressure washed, I begged off. Then, at 5 past 3:00 he called to say he was still caught up in another job; could he come on Tuesday, instead. Don't you hate that?
Anyway, Tom suggested we go over to the church for a little while. I'm so glad we did. The turn-out was disappointing, but what's important, Tom thoroughly enjoyed himself. Frank and Cindy (church musicians) played everything from Alabama to Croce to Diamond, etc., etc. After, Tom remarked, "Wow, I thought they only did gospel music."

Oh I enjoyed this so much...those singers are really good! And yes, I got it...the bead...and I love your black hat too! You look stunning in hats!! I wish I could wear one to church sometime, but singing in the choir...it would be frowned upon I'm sure. LOL. You have a sweet group of people there, I can tell. You are blessed. Thanks for sharing all the sweet stuff with us. I enjoyed this.

DeleteI loved the last picture of you in the hat, Myra! I did get the significance of the red bead on the floor. Wonder how long everyone will be finding one at church? Interesting about the domino effect. I had not had it explained like that before. Enjoyed the snippet of the music too! Glad you guys got out there to enjoy the Spring Fling. I wonder why it wasn't more well attended because it sounds like a lot of fun!

Oh, the red bead was a part of my friend Brenda's bracelet that became tangled in the bodice of her white blouse. She gave it a good yank and red beads went everywhere. We were down on the floor giggling while Pastor Janet was reading Scripture. (I wrote about it in my Easter post on April 18.)
DeleteLOVE your new photot at the end and the HAT is perfect. your hat ladies look so happy. you landed in the right church for sure... that domino thing is exactly what can happen when we make our decisions. what a great lesson just with the video. my mouth has done that much damage with a word spoken, in the past. I made a decision in 1983, one small decison that rocked my world and the world of my parents and children... for ever. could not be put back. I picture the effiel tower going down while watching the video...

DeleteLove the hats and the fun you all seem to have. The domino video was so interesting. I need to show that to my hubby as it would make a good visual aid for one of his sermons too. So cool that your husband suggest you go and that he enjoyed it so much. I think many people are surprised when they find out that Christians can have a lot of fun and they can sing and play all kinds of music. Have a blessed day my friend!

DeleteYou need a Kentucky Derby Hat. You look so good in hats. I like to dress up to go to church. People have become so slovenly these days. As a child we had to wear a covering on our heads. I really miss those days. Love the music and that domino affect, it was a good video and your pastor is a thinking ahead. I loved it all. In your otherpost you talked about your nails and cuticles. I need that cream too. Tell me if it works. I tried that foot cream that supposedly gets rid of your scratchy heels etc. DId not help me. I am always looking for good products. Oh the lone bead on the floor. The hat ladies all look so beautiful. You are truly blessed. Good friends and great church. See how God works, you and Tom needed that Spring Fling. I know it was a nice time. My cousin Ken's son Paul is a pastor. He's a real great guy. But their music is very much like the Lutheran church and a tad boring.But Paul & LIsa, his wife are good kind hearts. Love that they are my relatives too. Thank you for bring smiles. HUGS & LOVE
