Besides the predictable name-rank-serial number, what's something you know by heart?
Aside from the Pledge of Allegiance and liturgical creeds?
This probably sounds bizarre, but! The Employer Identification number from the CPA firm where I worked (mid 70's-80's) is hard-wired in my consciousness. Those being the Dark Ages, we typed every tax return -- in triplicate -- containing that EIN.
Something recently that had you tickled pink?
Watching Brad Williams' comedy routine (Prime) the other evening, I'm sure my faced was flushed. Tickled, yes! We've not laughed that hard in a long time.
How do you define the word romantic ... and are you one?
Gosh, I left 'romantic' behind many birthdays ago! I don't rightly know. Perhaps an unexpected-but-thoughtful gesture ... a favorite melody played on Tom's keyboards ... his undivided attention.
Writing these, I realize I need to step up my own game.

DeleteI had to rest a moment to get over my laughter when I read the question about am I a romantic? brahaha and that tickled me pink. I am the total opposite of romantic, realistic, practical are my middle names. I do love romance in a movie, but not the HALLMARK fake stuff. those movies should be listed under FANTASY. I like happily ever after stories, but want a little more thrill than lovey dovey in them.

DeleteOh yes 1572057 the ser# of my M-1 Rifle in the USMC. I read last year of a man looking at used rifles actually found his WWII rifle. That # was REQUIRED and asked many times. LOL

ReplyDeleteI like your answers, Mevely. I can never remember numbers like EIN or Tax Code numbers and so on. We had planned to name the children 1, 2 and 3; but decided this would be difficult to remember so we gave them names instead. Theophilus, Diogenes and Mortadella.

I'm definitely a romantic, but not in a candlelight and roses sense. I consider romanticism to have the elegant, idealistic elements of the Victorian era.
What I'm loving right now is the thought of spring.

(that's my pessimistic nature speaking)

DeleteI know my hubs SS# and mine too by heart. We used to use our SS number for everything, and I think 'back in the day' it was even printed on our checks at one point. Can you imagine that now??? My girls have to look their numbers up when tax time rolls around. Enjoy your week!

DeleteToo many numbers these days. I used to be able to recall numbers and such, but now we have a flood of numbers.

DeleteIs that a Hudson Bay wool blanket? Have you looked online lately at the price of a new one like that? You need to have it insured and keep it in a safe! LOL. I have an old burgundy red with a black stripe that belonged to my grandparents. Since it is wool, it is really too hot for us to use, so I have it stored away. I probably should have it framed and hung on the wall as expensive wall art! LOL. I enjoyed your post and your little poem and every thing else. A ribeye sounds great, but that's another thing we need to insure and frame. The price is outrageous. I am hoping they will come down in time for Valentine's Day. Your posts are always fun. ReplyDeleteWhy yes, it is! The label is frayed and there's a hole (not shown), but I'm still attached to it. My parents had the red one with the black stripe!
DeleteOh the days of hand written and dot matrix printers. Hahaha I think life was simpler. Now we have hackers and spammers and robo callers, ugh. Our kids Rebekah and Zach love a good ribeye. I was wondering if you thought I was a crazy maniac. The past few months have been unkind. But I am going forward with new thankfulness. I appreciate you letting me vent. Life can be so cruel and mean people are are most unfavorite people. I sure love all your shares. :-)
