Sunday Stealing

I think it's high time for a little levity; at least, a bit of trivial pursuit.

In honor of her birthday,
our hostess Bev has chosen a list of questions found on a birthday party website.  Without further ado...

"Have you ever?"

Broken a bone?
Yes.  For 6 weeks I had to write with my non-dominant (right) hand.  And those were the days students were graded on penmanship. *ugh*

Broken a window?
Uh-huh.  I'd misplaced my keys and thought it a perfectly reasonable way to get inside after school.  I couldn't understand why my parents were so cross.

Been on TV?
Yes. For 10 years I worked for the CBS affiliate in Tampa/St. Pete.  Not as an on-air personality, but in the occasional station promo.

Had a friend who shared the same birthday as you?
No. But the lady who held my job (before me) did. My boss swore (that) being born on March 17 was a prerequisite for the job.

Locked your keys in the car?
No

Accidentally sent a text or email to the wrong person?
No

Sat in the back of a police car?
No

Fallen asleep at work?
Close … but no

Made a snow angel?
Yep

Ridden in an ambulance?
No

Worst household chore
Mopping or vacuuming

Worst color
I hesitate to call it "worst", but I'm not fond of the color blue.

Worst pizza topping
Pepperoni

Worst weather
Tornados

Worst self-care job (e.g. dressing, washing, shaving, teeth, toe nails)
Flossing

Worst game
To play? Jinga

Worst school subject
Statistics

Worst animal
Snake
Technically a reptile, but I'm sticking with it

Worst season
Summer

Worst TV show
Oh my gosh, there's so many!
Then again, I'm not in a target demographic for some of today's inane sitcoms.

Painting with a too-wide brush, but I'm going with whatever happens to be airing on CNN.

* * *

It's not too late to play along! HERE.
I'd love to see your answers!

Sweet dreams … stay safe!

Hugs, Myra

  1. Broke a finger once with an anchor line, just after telling my son, do not wrap that anchor line around your hand, then I did!
Broke several windows some accidental two on purpose.
Locked the keys in a car, yep, in an isolated area of North Dakota. Pretty long wait. LOL
I always enjoy reading your responses, we get a kick out of them.
    THANKS.
Sherry & jack (Still feeling well and I will not cancel the Dr. appt. Sherry arranged it, I would be sorry if I did! LOL

  2. How fun to know that you worked for the CBS affiliate. That explains some of your big, outgoing personality! And maybe your gift for writing? Have a great week, Myra!

  3. I have two very dear friends born on March 17 - St. Pat's Day.
You are famous - CBS! lol
    I love pepperoni!
    Love, sandie

  4. You are one of the only people who didn't say anchovies on pizza! I agree with you on CNN! My pizza has to have pepperoni. Joe likes plain cheese so we either buy slices or two small pizzas. LOL

  5. I don't mind pepperoni, but prefer sausage and mushrooms.

  6. These are always fun to read! Helps learn more about people :) The teachers should have given a little leniency to you if you couldn't write well with your nondominant hand (hope they did).

I did send a text to the wrong person, LOL. Thankfully by the time I realized it was the wrong person it was early after I sent it and just text quickly "sorry, wrong text" and I didn't hear back from them. And I have sat in the back of a police car LOL from way back when I was in high school and a friend and me went visiting a boyfriend of her's at another school. We had the day off, he didn't. The police showed up (now mind you this is the year 1974) because we were trespassing on campus and they put us in the back seat of the police car while they sorted it all out. Scared out of my wits!!

  7. Snakes would be on the top of the list. But you don't see them often. But when we moved to this house there were tons of crickets and I could not sleep. Then one got in the house! I am at risk of having a break because of Osteoporosis. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  8. Okay, I actually APPLAUDED when I saw your TV answer for CNN. We can also add MSNBC....
I'm also impressed that you were a CBS affiliate. That certainly must have been interesting.

I always enjoy your answers to questions like these. I haven't done a Sunday Stealing in so long that I'm tempted to tackle this one.

  10. Levity - Levitate.
A magic trick where you make a person float up in the air. I levitated my mother-in-law once. She floated up to the ceiling; then I could not bring her down again.

Accidentally sent a text or email to the wrong person?
I accidentally sent an embarrassing photo to everyone in my address book. It cost me a fortune in postage stamps.

    Fallen asleep at work?
I dreamt I was at a meeting at work. When I woke up ... I was!

    Worst school subject - Statistics
I was good at statistics. Did you know, for instance, that six out of seven dwarfs are not Happy? Or that 9 out of 6 people are not good at statistics?

    God bless.

  11. I agree that most television today is not worth watching, and CNN tops the list. Tornadoes are right there with the CNN crowd, too. Great Sunday stealing list, Myra!
    Blessings!

    hypervintlated locked in that cage.
i once sent an email complaing bitterly, it was meant to go to all managers. and it went
to all the divison mgrs, all five of the C's in the company and the managers.
