It's All Good!

Ya, I'm still smiling ...

..... recalling yesterday's lunch with son and DIL.  Because I got to pick, we met at my favorite BBQ shack.  Yep, the same place Tom brought me take-out a few days ago.  Some things are worth doing over and over again.

'Wind hair', don't care!

Except while eating outside in the chill, a 'bug' decided my tonsils would make a fine place to rest.

Thankfully, in the kitchen ....

..... I've still a couple containers of chicken detox soup remaining.  At first, I was disappointed how bland it tasted.  (Yes, I used low-sodium broth.)  I'd made the mistake of over-cooking, over-shredding the chicken -- that resulted in it looking a lot like dental floss.

No worries, Tom grilled extra chicken. Plus, I brought out my new favorite weapon: Curry.
Have you a sure-fire 'go to' spice?

Speaking of good ideas!

..... When one of my friends posted on FB, her hairbrush resembled a DNA kit, another gal jumped in with a bit of advice.

From her doctor:
To help alleviate hair loss, put a couple of tablespoons of coffee in your shampoo.

Couldn't hurt, right?  I'll let-cha know!

Know what else makes me smile?

..... The Waffle House isn't one of my favorite venues. But I love how, when you walk in the door, someone behind the bar's apt to holler, "Good morning!"  Like they mean it!

Anyway.  The other day we had to be back at the VA for Tom's check-up.  Because they were holding another Covid walk-in clinic, the lobby was filled.  Despite the chaos, everyone was so nice.  And I noticed, as workers arrived, one after another, they did the same thing:

"Good morning everyone!" in loud voices, coupled with 'the wave.'

Wouldn't it be nice if airport personnel were to do something like that?  (Ya, right. HaHaHa)

Still celebrating my birthday month ... but!

Oh my.  That final sentence ...

Wishing y'all a fine new week... sweet dreams!

Hugs, Myra

  1. We have colds here ugh. We were with the little ones and they both had runny noses but no cough. SO now we have the cough and I am stuffy. Avery hates having to cough out loud at work as everyone has a stroke! My problem arise when the weather warms and trees looks as though they will bloom. Then my eyes water, my throat is scratchy and I get a stuffy or runny nose. I will chill for a few days. Take it easy as we had a few beautiful days and it is currently snowing. U G H ! Tired of it. So much to do to get ready for Jake & Hannah coming for Mother's Day and back again for Hannah's milestone birthday in July. Rebekah says Brittany is hosting a Mother's Day Brunch . I am exciting. Their new house is beautiful and the kitchen is a cook's dream. Their master bedroom is the size of a dance hall. It is decorated so beautifully. I need soup. I think I have chicken breasts in the freezer. I just bought carrots. Maybe I will do a quick grocery pick up so I don't have to go inside. To get my other soup items. Your photo id so sweet. We have had wind too. Lots of March winds. BBq sounds yum. We had steaks last night in celebration of our gov. telling Coloradans to not eat eat yesterday. You could not get near a steak house or even any of the popular joints. Serves him right. We can eat what we love, afterall we live in a beef state. I am sick of the malarkey and so are thousands of others. The news won't talk about it. We had a wonderful meal. So time to hit the sheets. Have a wonderful week, feel better and rest, rest, rest. HUGS

    1. Ugh on your colds! I used to get bronchitis every year, and even after I felt better, for weeks thereafter I couldn't quell the cough to save my life. Ya, my coworkers looked at me like an escapee from the TB farm. Feel better soon!

  2. Praying for yours and Tom's good health.

I tried the coffee suggestion and burnt my head. Be careful.

If you use the laptop in the bath beware the camera on the laptop may be switched on!!!

    God bless.

  3. Girl, I am rolling with the comment you left at my blog, "Foreign exchange..." Thanks, needed that. Oh I talk to everyone as soon as they walk in the door at work-hence why my employer is not happy with me. LOLOL. You really want to make me mad and rolling my eyes, you keep telling me NOT to do it, we shall see who lasts longer. LOLOLOL

  4. LOVE the picture of you and your sweetie sitting on the swing together, with the wind blowing through your hair, and such big smiles on your faces! I can tell you were in "hog's heaven" at that BBQ place! Hey! We went to a BBQ place on Sat. too with our son and our other son and wife, etc., to finish celebrating Scott's birthday! I didn't get any pictures at the BBQ place, but we had a great time. It was cold and windy here too. About that bath...I cannot imagine anyone wanting to get their laptop that close to water. That is a disaster waiting to happen. I would not even read a book in the tub. Candles? Yes! Wine? Well...I don't drink, and if I did, I'd probably drown in the tub! LOL. But a nice hot bath does sound lovely...my only problem is getting in and out of the tub gracefully. Hmmm, coffee in the hair? Not sure about that idea...who wants to go around smelling like a cup of coffee all the time? Hmmm, well, I guess there's worse things you could smell like... like a permanent that I just got! LOL. Anyway, Happy Birthday again...so glad you got to celebrate with the family. You deserve only the best!!!!

    1. Thank you so much! I know, that tub scene has me shaking my head. Pretty set-up for a movie set, perhaps, but I'd never attempt it.

  5. I want that swing, see what ya can do, but don't use FEDEX... remember my THING with faucet? my son ordered brake parts, no brakes this week end, parts are lost in FEDEX
I am going to show bob the swing, we have one that needs back and bottom. he might could do this. HA
nuff about the swing, the two of you look super great and I like the wind hair... plus you look happy... except of course the vistior on the tonsil. I wish the doctor offices would be more friendly, yet another HA.... we are so much alike, I boiled the chicken until it was so tough even the dog wouldn't eat it.

    1. Who wants to risk undercooked chicken? If I make it again, I'm going to use one of the rotisserie chickens from Wal-Mart.

  6. Coffee in shampoo prevents hair loss??? Yes, Myra, let me know how that works for you! Glad to know you're still celebrating your birthday even though it's past. I'm doing the same thing. Blessings for a great week!

  7. Glad you are continuing the birthday celebration. Love the photo of you and Tom on the swing. Sorry abut the bug incident lol. I'm glad you found a way to rescue your soup and please let us know if the coffee works. We call Waffle House the Good Morning house lol. Enjoy the rest of your birthday month Myra! Oh and keep all electronics, candles and alcoholic beverages away from the tub - just in case!

  8. WE loved this. Sherry beat me here. She smiled reading the comments (she LOVES the smell of coffee!) Oh, and SWINGS are one of our favorite things, that one is a great photo op for a memory of good BBQ!
AND the bathtub idea is some VERY CALM lady's idea, a man would have the whole thing in the tub with them in 23 seconds. LOL
Great read and good graphics. SWEET visit, STAY SAFE!
    Love ya
Sherry & jack hoping spring shows up here in Florida soon!

    1. Yes, indeed. The aroma of coffee is definitely up there in my book. :) I'm laughing at the visual of a man trying to bathe in that tub.

  9. That's the truth Myra, we never know how much time we've got. I'd never take my computer near the tub, but do love a good long soak. Glad you are still enjoying the birthday month. It's almost over. Love the picture of the two of you. You make a lovely couple.

  12. If nothing else, putting coffee in your shampoo with ensure that you emit the aroma of breakfast all day long.
To heck with the chicken soup. Just keep consuming curry and it will eventually cure everything that you might have.

I have enough trouble maneuvering my laptop in bed. I couldn't imagine the damage that would incur with me, a laptop, candles, and wine...in a bathtub....

I tried to be humorous, but I'm definitely not in a funny mood today.

    1. Good point about the curry! Tom can't stand the stuff. Uh-oh. I hope whatever's got you 'down' disappears quick-like. 🙏

  13. I love your picture!! Wind hair and all!! Coffee in shampoo... keep us posted! Curry... yum!! I would be right there with the burned curtains and ruined laptop! Ha!! Good grief! xo

  14. I've never heard of the coffee suggestion. I'm assuming it's brewed coffee. The grounds would stop up my tub. Let me know. I'm interested in this.

    1. Oh yes ... I should have specified "brewed." Someone else was concerned it might affect her hair color (white, like mine), but "no." So far I've not noticed any change; may have to step up my shampoo routine.

  15. That coffee suggestion is quite interesting. Keep us posted. I meant to add the Brown Cow soda my previous comment. It is similar to the B/W Soda but with rootbeer and either vanilla or chocolate ice cream. Sandra left a comment on the previous post about someone hitting her when she tried to eat things not good for her. That is me too. The hubby won't do it! Darn it! Enjoy the weekend and stay safe and enjoy!
