Sunday sidewalk

G'evening sweet friends,

Whew, it's been a minute!  In spite of my best laid plans, Life often "gangs a-glay."  (Not textbook, rather the exact words of a late love.)

I've not the energy to write a proper post, so here's a few smidgens of life in the slow lane.  Maybe you can relate to one.  Or two?

My kitchen list of ingredients is growing by leaps and bounds.   Unfortunately, the season's inaugural pot of Conecuh and veggie soup was lacking.   In a multi-tasking moment, 'someone' drained most of the "good stuff" (juice) right down the kitchen sink.  I worry about me.

Sweet Grace is being seen every 5-6 weeks to monitor her liver levels.  Her waning appetite, however, was concerning.  The vet doesn't seem overly concerned but ordered a prescription.   I smiled.  Nodded like I understood (haha).

Then a few hours later, standing in the kitchen with syringe in one hand, glaring at the bottle with the other.  "Tom, what is the difference between a milliliter and a CC?"

AI to the rescue!  They're virtually the same thing.  Why, then didn't they put ML on the label?
Please tell me, someone else -- outside the medical field -- knew that already?

Thankfully, G is back on her game; getting whatever her little heart prefers.

I'm so sad!  My long-awaited company won't be visiting this week.  D and I were so excited to see one another again.  It's been 8 years!   Because of her mobility and waning eyesight issues her sister and brother-in-law were driving her here to Alabama ... we'd all planned a whee of a time!

I'd been sitting and researching local spots for brunch when my phone rang yesterday.  Without going into detail, D's doctors have ix-nayed the trip.   She's developed osteomylelitis; in her physician's words, "This stuff can travel quickly."   Prayers appreciated!

On the Bright Side ....

There's nothing like a 3-hour-15-minute phone call with my favorite son and DIL to cheer my world once more.   Don't tell him I said this, but I don't recall ever chatting that long when I was a teen!

Then, there's seeing this at my front door.

It's been marinating in my Amazon cart for the better part of a year, but I've no regrets.
Gifting myself a little trinket because today would have been my birthday if I was born today. (lol)

Of course, there's more I could say but truth told I'm a little weary.
I hope everyone enjoys a good night's rest!

We'll chat again soon!

Hugs, Myra

  1. Oh I love that cup/mug. Sorry your friend isn't about to.make it. Can you go to her? Glad sweet Grace is doing better.
Today I came across Laydee's last photo and broke down. Oh when does the grief end? My goodness, she was just a dog.
