Ice Breakers

...aka, another episode of Sunday Stealing
I originally planned to share something else entirely.  On second thought, however -- despite the fact it's messing with my mind (and I've the most wonderful blog friends on the planet) -- I'd like to keep things light.  For now.  (*smile*)

Thanks to Bud ... and all who warmly welcomed me to the 'club' last week!

1.  Are you loud, outgoing or shy?

None of the above.
... Except for certain SEC football games.  lol.

2.  What's coming up where you'll see an old friend?

'Hoping my BF can drive up from St. Pete while we're in Pike Road for Sarah's wedding.

3.  Are you easy to get along with?

So, I nearly snorted my wine when reading this last night.    Do you suppose anyone would really reply, "No"?!

4.  Have you ever given up on someone, but then gone back to them?

No.  Normally I'm a long time getting there, but when I'm done, I'm done.

5.  Who was the last person with whom you had a deep conversation?

My BF, Debbie.

6.  Are you okay with being in a big crowd?

If you consider 'okay' my not having a panic attack, yes.  But comfortable?  Nope.

7.  Do you believe in luck and/or miracles?

Luck, not so much.  (I do go out of my way, however, to avoid stepping on cracks or dropping my hand mirror.  lol!)

Miracles?  Absolutely, everyday!   They might not manifest themselves as I expect ... but that's not to say I'm not a believer.

8.  What good thing happened during the summer?

Wow.  For someone who loathes the heat (but lives in Phoenix) this is a toughie.
I'd have to say, Tom's successful retinal surgery back in July.

9.  Do you think there is life on other planets?

Why not?   I'm no Biblical scholar, but don't recall seeing the word "only" in Genesis 1.1.

10.  Who was your first crush?

Clint Eastwood (Rowdy Yates in Rawhide)

11.  What are your bad habits?

Good grief, there's not enough time!  OK ...

I'm OCD/old-fashioned when it comes to ending sentences with a preposition.  (Did anyone notice I changed the wording of a couple of these questions?)

I also need to fix the way I speak while in traffic.  'Don't want to be THAT little old lady in the nursing home, ya know?

12.  What's your favorite part of your daily routine?

After escorting Macie and Gracie out (at 4 each morning), I make it a point to take time to sip coffee and cuddle with them.   'We' sing Jesus Loves Me; and sometimes, God Bless America.    (They're wonderfully tolerant of my less-than-stellar singing voice.)

13.  Other than your significant other, who are you most comfortable with?

My BF, Debbie.

14.  Has an ex ever told you that they regret breaking up?

Nope.  I'm imagine they're both too vain. :)

15.  Why should your celebrity crush drop everything to be with you?

Seriously?!?!?!
Ah, come on!  I'm going to be 67 y/o before long.

16.  What would be the hardest to give up, and why?  Books.  TV.  Music.

Hmmm, I don't watch television that much.
Unfortunately, I can't won't decide between music and books.  Both are precious.

17.  Do you believe in second chances?

I won't say "never", but no ... not so much.

18.  What would (you) like to do next in your life?

I'd love to sell our house and relocate nearer my son.

19.  What's the meanest thing that anyone has ever said to you?

Not to me, exactly, but within ear-shot.
My boss to her DOS following a skills exam:  "Why, Myra beat you, and she's just an assistant."
(That was several years ago, but it still stings.)

20.  What's the nicest thing that anyone has ever said to you?

Nothing can beat hearing, "I love you."

***

Have a wonder-FULL week, everyone!

Hugs from chilly Phoenix,
Myra

  1. the mean thing i remember from 1997, while singing in a small church choir, the soprano leaned over and said "whatever you are singing it is prety". really? I do believe in 2nd chances and 3rd and on and on. I had a 2nd chance when my life blew apart on me and i got it. i worked with over comers and we taught them no matter what you have done or has been done to you, you have another chance to get past it.
I don't believe in next lives, we only live once. i do think there might be life out there in space somewhere, God created this world why not more.
after reading this I know my sentences on my blog drive you nuts.

    1. I should have said, I'm not so good at giving others a second chance. Oh my word, Mr. God has given me thousands of 'second chances', and still He loves me.

I don't EVEN pay attention to my FRIENDS' writing, because I'm hearing their hearts! :)

  2. I believe in second chances too! But not third. So don't mess with me more than twice! LOL! I think there is life on other planets. Maybe not the same as us, but life! I probably end lots of sentences in ways you don't like. But I know you still like me! And that is all that matters! Great answers Myra. I would love to read the post you were originally planning! I am certain it is profound!

    1. You betcha, I like you!
Aw, nothing profound. In fact, probably a bit self-serving. Still searching for that yellow brick road. Ha!

  3. I enjoyed your answers this week. I said basically the same thing about other life...the Bible talks about creation on earth...doesn't say anything about the rest of the universe other than God created the heavens.

I figured it out after you asked and added a "follow" button to my blog.

  6. You said that you initially planned to write about something else this weekend. Well, so did I - - but I forcibly restrained myself. I didn't want to lose any more of my blog readers....

I can strongly identify with all your answers - - except I've never had a crush on Clint Eastwood (*smile*).
I love that quote about second chances. It's right on target.

  10. Myra, are you going to be in Florida for a wedding? How long and where? Oh my gosh. Is there a chance to meet in person?

    1. Dang it! Since I posted this, seems my granddaughter's wedding is off the table. :(
Nevertheless, I'd LOVE having the opportunity to meet you and Joe! One of these days, for sure!

    2. scott Eastwood is a real hunk like his daddy was as Rowdy Yates. He is the movie, which I bought, because it was so amazing, called "The Longest Ride" and Alan Alda is a terrific actor in it too.

  12. I love your daily routine with the girls! That is just so precious!!! Son had an ex that said if he was ever back on the market, to look her up (I shuddered at the thought, but I'm still friends with her on Facebook, LOL). I do not do crowds well. I could easily be a hermit; I think we talked about this before!

    2. Oh My Goodness, you say "Yuppers" just like my dear friend Michael J Barnett who passed away last December 2015. he always said that to me when we started a conversation and ended with "thereis no place like home", I really my late night chats with him. He was still in love with my goofy single gf Lynette all these years later. Oh those memories.

  13. I believe in miracles and 2nd changes. I see them happen every day. Just the fact that I wake up every morning is a miracle and is another chance to get it right. I would agree that hearing I LOVE YOU is the best thing ! Hope you have a great start to this new week!

  14. I will have to copy and paste this later. I love how you interact with your girls! Aw....sweet! Bandit had some sort of sneezing attack earlier and the poor old fellow was banging his head on the hardwood floor. I moved him onto the carpet. He is so ancient I pray he doesn't give up here on my watch! anyway running a few errands and I will be back. Take care and have a great day!

  15. More great answers! (Keep 'em coming!)

I agree with your response to #16. It would be very easy to give up TV, (except for next Sunday's Super Bowl, that is... can't believe our Falcons are gonna be in it!!!) but music and books are outta the question. They're part of me. (Although it's never been confirmed, rumor has it that I popped out of my mother's womb with a book in one hand and a flashlight in the other.)

On #17, though, I always believe in giving second chances, sometimes to my detriment, but I find it verrrrry hard to give up on people.

    1. Chuckling about your book-in-one-hand and flashlight-in-the-other remark. That could well have been used to describe me!

I don't recall having said so before, but, "GO FALCONS!!!" Already, I'm plenty tired of that 'other' team.

    2. HA! I think a lot of people are tired of that "other" team. :)
